Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique Martínez expressed his disappointment and frustration following Liverpool's 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

Liverpool stole a 1-0 win over PSG at the Parc des Princes, despite being up against it for the entirety of the game.

The Reds had just 2 shots in the entire game, with PSG taking 25 shots, and Luis Enrique believes the result is unfair to his team.

"It's very unfair, very unfair," Enrique said in a post-match interview.

"I think it was a complete match, if not the most complete we've played in the Champions League. They shot twice and scored a goal. We had many chances; their best player was the goalkeeper."

Enrique took pride in his team's performance, praising the players and the fans for creating a wonderful atmosphere. However, he acknowledged that football is ultimately decided by the goals scored, rather than the quality of play.

"I feel very proud of my players, of the fans; it was a wonderful atmosphere, but football doesn't know about fair or unfair, it only knows about the goals that are scored. We will think positively."

Despite the setback, Enrique remains confident that PSG can turn the tie around in the second leg at Anfield.

"We were much better than Liverpool; their best player was the goalkeeper," he said.

"We deserved to win the match, and I see no negative side. There is the second leg in Liverpool, and we will not give up."
