The former Liverpool star has opened up about how life at Real Madrid is ahead of the Club World Cup.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has shared his first impressions of life at Real Madrid as the Spanish giants prepare for their Club World Cup campaign.

The 26-year-old was officially presented as a Real Madrid player last Thursday, following the expiration of his Liverpool contract. Although technically a free agent, Real Madrid paid £10 million to secure his services a month early.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's future was the subject of intense speculation throughout the 2024-25 season before he announced his departure from Anfield last month, a move that sparked considerable disappointment among Liverpool supporters.

On Monday, the right-back spoke about adapting to life as a Galactico and playing alongside stars like Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Júnior.

"It was a hot start, but a good training session with some positive takeaways. It was good to get a feel for the ball and the heat, training in this climate. It was a high-quality session," he told the club's website.

"The ball moves very fast. It's obviously a lot different to what I'm used to in terms of the players and the style of play, but it's good, and I'm enjoying the change. I'm enjoying being a part of it. It feels really good, and I'm happy to be here, to be honest."

Before his official presentation at the Bernabéu, Trent Alexander-Arnold toured the club's facilities, including a display of Real Madrid's recent Champions League trophies.

During his presentation, the defender impressed onlookers by speaking in Spanish. On Monday, he expressed his appreciation for his new teammates' efforts to communicate with him on the pitch.

"I can't say enough about the lads and how they've made me feel welcome. They've all put in a lot of effort, spoken to me, made me feel comfortable, and made sure any questions I had, especially with translations, they've helped me a lot with everything. I can't thank them enough, and now we're excited for the games to begin," he added.

Alexander-Arnold, who will simply be known as 'Trent' at Real Madrid, will wear the number 12 shirt after signing a six-year contract.

At his unveiling last week, Alexander-Arnold stated: "Thank you, Florentino Pérez, and the club for this opportunity. This doesn't happen every day. It's a dream come true.

"I'm very happy and proud to be here. I want to show Real Madrid fans how I play. I realize I'm signing for Real Madrid, and the demands are high, but I'm going to give my all for the team and the Real Madrid fans. I want to win many titles. I want to be a winner here and enjoy playing alongside the best players in the world at Madrid."

Following their opening match against Al-Hilal, Real Madrid will also face Mexican side Pachuca and RB Salzburg in the group stage.
