The Manchester United tactician wants an effective goal scorer in the summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag has told the Manchester United hierarchy to sign a number 9 for him.
A number of strikers have already been linked with the Old Trafford club, and Ten Hag has admitted they need to sign one due to a shortage of attackers.
"Everyone knows, and it is not a secret, that long-term and over a whole season we had a shortage of No. 9s," the Dutchman is quoted as saying.
"We had the drop out of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, then Anthony Martial was often not available, Jadon Sancho was often not available, and then you have a shortage of front line players.
"We have players who can play the role, but we definitely need some offensive players who are impactful and quality players."

The Brazilian is among the transfer options United will target in the next transfer window.
Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos group both put in their third bids for the club just before the Friday 10 p.m. deadline.
If United get Neymar – who earns £490,000 a week in Paris - and Kane to partner Rashford up front, that would be a decent attacking line up capable of taking the club to the next level.
