National Super League team gears up for training camp in Tanzania's coastal town of Tanga.

National Super League (NSL) side SS Assad are all set to embark on a riveting pre-season training camp in the picturesque Tanzanian town of Tanga.

The camp, generously sponsored by their benefactors, Base Titanium, promises to be a crucial stepping stone for the team as they aim to climb the ranks and make a significant impact in the fiercely competitive league.

In the two-day camp, the players and coaching staff of SS Assad will immerse themselves in an intensive training regime, focusing on enhancing their teamwork, tactics, and individual performance.

“SS Assad pre-season tour is scheduled to take place in Tanga, Tanzania, from Friday, August 18, 2023, to Sunday, August 20, 2023, courtesy of Base Titanium,” the  club statement reads.

While the exact details of the camp's schedule remain shrouded in mystery, the football fraternity is buzzing with anticipation, wondering which teams SS Assad will face in friendly matches during their stay in the coastal town of Tanzania.

Notable omission from the SS Assad lineup for this crucial training camp is their last season's top scorer, Beja Nyamawi, who recently made a noteworthy transfer to Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Bandari FC.

Nyamawi's departure leaves a significant void in the squad's offensive department, and his absence will undoubtedly be felt as the team gears up for the challenges that lie ahead.

However, this also presents an opportunity for emerging talents within SS Assad to step up and fill the shoes of the departed star.

The 2022/23 National Super League season witnessed SS Assad finish in the 11th position, showcasing both their potential and room for improvement.

In an intriguing turn of events, SS Assad becomes the second football team to choose Tanga as their pre-season camp destination, following in the footsteps of Bandari.

Bandari's recent friendly match against Coastal Union served as a testament to the value of such camps, providing valuable exposure and experience against diverse opponents.
