Sports Kenya wants a number of assurances from AFC Leopards before opening the doors of Nyayo Stadium for them again even if Ingwe settle their huge fine.
Sports Kenya wants AFC Leopards to demonstrate that their fans will not damage property again before they are allowed to return to Nyayo Stadium even if they pay their fine.
Leopards were handed a Ksh505,450 fine and barred from using any Sports Kenya facility in the country until they settle the dues following destruction of property at Nyayo Stadium by a section of their fans during the Mashemeji Derby on April 21.
It forced Ingwe to host Bandari at the Dandora Stadium last weekend although coach Tomas Trucha has urged the club to quickly resolve the standoff and return to Nyayo where they can accommodate more fans.

AFC Leopards coach Tomas Trucha has sent a passionate plea to the club to resolve their stadium standoff quickly since they are missing out a lot by playing at Dandora Stadium.
But as Ingwe work on settling the huge bill, it seems that alone will not be enough to return to Nyayo, as Sports Kenya wants them to also show how their supporters will be kept away from damaging stadia property.
“Stadiums are there to be used by all teams but clubs must take responsibility for their fans,” Sports Kenya official Rakki Asman told Pulse Sports.
“They [Leopards] must pay the fine and take care of their fans. They must show how they plan to contain their fans so that we do not have to be talking about the same things again,” he added.

AFC Leopards boss slams fans for handing club losses following heavy fines over Mashemeji Derby chaos
AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has scoffed at the club’s supporters over the acts of hooliganism witnessed at Nyayo Stadium that have led to heavy fines on Ingwe.
During the highly-charged Mashemeji derby against Gor Mahia, a section of fans damaged a polycarbonate canopy at the players' tunnel, numerous fixed and portable seats, all-metal shovels, corner flags, and even taps and gate valves at Nyayo Stadium.
The damage saw Gor Mahia also slapped with a Ksh126,000 with K’Ogalo still also barred from Sports Kenya facilities following a similar incident at Kasarani Stadium earlier in the season.
Incidents of hooliganism have become common, especially at Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums, with irate fans turning to property destruction whenever they are not happy with a decision or a result.
