Odhiambo was involved in a horrific car accident in October 2022.

Sports loving Gor Mahia treasurer Dolphina Odhiambo has moved closer to full recovery from injuries sustained in a grisly road accident six months ago.

Since getting involved in the accident at Kaplong, Bomet County, Odhiambo has been unable to attend K'Ogalo fixtures but has kept cheering the club alongside Arsenal from the confines of her home and hospital.

The ardent sports fanatic has also keenly been following sporting developments in her native Homa Bay County and voicing her views on social media every once in a while.

But on Wednesday, Odhiambo issued an update on her condition in a comment made on Homa Bay governor Glady Wanga regarding the Roan Antelope Half Marathon set for next month in the county.

‘How I wish I could run that accident really messed me up but soon.......... God bless you Governor. Great job,” she posted.

Odhiambo was alone in the car during the accident when she collided head-on with a lorry.

She was rushed to a local clinic for first aid before being driven by an ambulance to a Nairobi Hospital, where she was admitted and treated for leg and arm injuries.

On that day, Hospital officials barred journalists from seeing the athlete, saying that he was under observation and needed rest.

Odhiambo assured the club followers that she was recapturing well and has since been out of the media circles for a while.

She was elected as a Gor Mahia Executive Committee member in August 2020 after defeating Christine Okoth to win the Treasurer position.

Odhiambo managed to get 286 votes, translating to 74%, while Okoth managed just 103 votes, 26% of the total votes.
