Harambee Stars forward Mohammed Bajaber has shared some of the challenges he encountered on trials in Denmark.
Bajaber had a chance to sign for a European club, when he secured a trial at Danish side Midtjylland in 2021, during the early stages of his career.

“It was a shock, I cannot lie. I was not used to their food. I am used to eating maharagwe and chapo [beans and chapati] and you go there, its fish and no seasoning,” Bajaber told NTV.
“The weather was nice, I got in at a time when there was summer and the facilities were really nice and people were really nice but I was stuck on the food.”
What left a lasting impression on Bajaber, however, is some of the players he was on trial with, including one standout star who is now attracting interest from Arsenal.
“We were on trial there with a player called Ousmane Diomande. He was signed by Midtjylland, the only player signed in that trial,” Bajaber further revealed.

“I think they sold him six-month later to Sporting Lisbon for 10 million euro and now, he is wanted by Arsenal and those guys. I would love to see him play for Arsenal,” added the 22-year-old, who is also an Arsenal supporter.
Ivorian centre-back Diomande has been at Sporting since joining from Midtjylland in 2023 and after making 101 appearances, a host of Premier League sides are on his radar.
A report on Caught Offside in May claimed Arsenal were targeting him with a £67 million release clause in his contract but BBC reported in June that Crystal Palace had opened talks with Sporting over a £40 million transfer.
Bajaber later signed for Nairobi City Stars, where he played until January 2025, before he joined Kenya Police in February for a reported Ksh1 million.
