Upon his debut for the Scottish club, Victor Wanyama had not played for about eight months, and it was clear that he was not fully fit for the task.

His debut ended with Dunfermline Athletic enduring a 3-0 defeat to Ayr United, coached by Victor Wanyama’s former teammate at Celtic FC, Scott Brown. Victor Wanyama was handed a red card not more than 20 minutes into his playing time.

Speaking about how he reacted to the red card, Neil Lennon noted that it was not a big deal since red cards are inevitable, and in Victor Wanyama’s case, he had not played for a while.

“We had a chuckle about it. I was going to say, we’ve all done that, but I never did that!” Neil Lennon said, as per the Courier.

At the moment, Victor Wanyama is elevating his skills and is undertaking some coaching courses as he looks to become a better player and, hopefully, later transition into coaching.

Neil Lennon pointed out that it would be great to have him back at Dunfermline, but since he is engaged, maybe he wants to take a different path in his life.

“He’s doing his coaching badges. He’s actually doing them in Belfast, I think, with the IFA. That’s another one he wants to add to his resumé, the coaching side of things as well. So maybe there might be something there for him going forward,” Neil Lennon added.

Victor Wanyama has earned a name for himself in the world of football and is widely respected for his professionalism.

He is one of Kenya’s most successful exports, playing for top European clubs like Celtic, Southampton, and Tottenham Hotspur during his peak years.
