Masava joined the club in the mid-season transfer window from Michael Olunga’s MOFA Academy and featured over 90 minutes during their win against KCB.

Kakamega Homeboyz star Glen Masava is elated after playing his maiden FKFPL match against KCB, a game the reigning FKF Cup winners won last Sunday.

Homeboyz beat the Bankers 2-1 to end their recent indifferent run of form, which will put them in a good place ahead of their much-anticipated game against AFC Leopards at the Bukhungu Stadium this Sunday.

Head coach Patrick Odhiambo took that opportunity to hand maiden debuts to certain players, and one of them was Glen Masava, who signed from Michael Olunga’s MOFA last January.

Masava has now spoken about how it was like taking part in an FKFPL game for the first time in his career, thanking Odhiambo for giving him that opportunity.

“First match and I played 90 minutes for a big club like this one makes me very happy,” Masava told the club’s social media handles.

“I thank the coach for giving me this opportunity to express myself because it was my first game in the Kenyan top flight, and to top it up with a win is a plus to me.”

Masava is looking forward to gaining more opportunities to don the Homeboyz shirt in order to continue gaining much more experience.

“The more I proceed, and the more chances the coach gives me, I think it will be very good (for my development),” he added.

Otunga took part in the 2023 Chapa Dimba na Safaricom tournament and has been earmarked as one of the most promising stars in Kenyan football.
