Bafana Bafana winger Percy Tau is the latest high-profile African player to be released by a Qatari club after Qatar SC opted against extending his big-money contract.
South African forward Percy Tau is the latest African player to leave Qatar following his release by Qatar SC on Thursday.
Tau has been in Qatar for six months after joining in January from Egyptian giants Al Ahly with hopes of an extended stay now over.
The South African winger signed a six-month contract, which had a clause that would allow the club to extend by a further two years, but only if he did well.

He is among six players released by Qatar SC who are looking for an improved performance next season after surviving relegation in the just-concluded campaign.
