Manchester United have made it clear to five players that they are not in the plans of coach Ruben Amorim and should stay away from pre-season

Five Manchester United players have been told to delay their return to preseason training, set to begin at Carrington on Monday.

Sources indicate that Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia are all seeking moves away from the club after spending time out on loan last season.

This decision allows them additional time to explore potential transfers, while also keeping them separate from manager Ruben Amorim. Reportedly, Amorim has clashed with Rashford and advised Garnacho to actively pursue a new club.

Manchester United winger Antony is among players looking to leave the club.

While these five players will not be joining the initial pre-season sessions, they will still have access to medical and rehabilitation facilities at Carrington. Amorim and the rest of the squad will be embarking on a pre-season tour of the US before the five players are expected back, likely later this month at the earliest.

By providing a delayed return date and continued access to medical resources, Manchester United aims to comply with contractual obligations while facilitating potential transfers. This news follows Amorim's return to Carrington on Friday, amidst reports that Rashford was prepared to fully participate in pre-season training despite transfer speculation.

Rashford, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa following criticism from Amorim, has been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. It has been confirmed that his number 10 shirt will be given to new signing Matheus Cunha for a reported £62.5 million.

However, the club emphasises that Rashford remains a significant figure in their history and a respected academy graduate.

Garnacho reportedly fell out of favour with Amorim after his reaction to being benched during the Europa League final loss to Tottenham. Napoli, Chelsea, and Tottenham are among the clubs reportedly interested in the Argentinian winger.

Sancho's return to training was anticipated after Chelsea opted to pay a £5 million penalty rather than make his loan move permanent. Juventus has expressed interest in a loan deal, but may struggle to afford his substantial wages.

Antony, who had a successful loan spell at Real Betis, could potentially return to the Spanish club, either on loan or through a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, Malacia, whose loan move to PSV Eindhoven was not made permanent, faces an uncertain future at Manchester United under Amorim.
