The Kitale-born striker inspired Slavia Prague to the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Harambee Starlets Striker Marjolen Nekesa picked up where she left off last week as she helped pile misery on Romanian outfit Cluj in the second round of the Champions League to send the Czech side into the group stages of the competition.

The Slávistky went into the rematch with a five-goal advantage from the first leg gae at home, but showed they had no room for complacency.

In the second minute, the Cluj goalkeeper had to tip a dangerous cross by Gabriela Šlajsová onto the crossbar.

The threat would translate into a goal in the 10th minute after a ball from Michelle Xiao's corner kick bounced on the edge of the small goal area before Nekesa opened the scoring with a quick finish from the turn.

Slávistka controlled the game after the opening goal and created more chances, and just before the break, Tamara Nečasová skilfully made it two for the visitors.

After an hour of play, the Slavists added a third goal through Molly McLaughlin, who attacked the box from the right to head the ball home.

And ten minutes later, the Slavists rejoiced for the fourth time. Substitute Petra Divišová’s cross landed on the path of Martina Šurnovská, who made it 4:0 without any problems.

McLaughlin scored her second to make it five in the 75th minute when she calmly slotted the ball home when one on one with the keeper.

Gabriela Šlajsová's cross from the right side was then converted by Michaela Khýrová, whose shot ended up in the back of the net to put the game set and match for the Czech side.
