K’Ogalo have been in the market for more firepower and have added the highly-travelled Rwandan attacker to their ranks.

Gor Mahia have completed the signing of Rwandan forward Patrick Sibomana, who joined the club after a stint with Mozambique’s Clube Ferroviario da Beira.

The record 20-time Kenyan champions are beefing up their frontline ahead of the new campaign with coach Jonathan McKinstry having prioritised attack as an area that needed strengthening.

Sibomana, 26, is highly experienced having played for Isonga and APR in his native Rwanda before moving to Belarus where he briefly played for Shakhtyor Soligorsk.

He then returned home to play for Mukura Victory and Police FC with a stint at Tanzanian giants Yanga in between before heading to Mozambique.

“I can confirm that he has signed for us. We look forward to seeing what he will bring to the side alongside the Ugandan (Rogers Mugisha) who is also highly rated,” said a source from Gor Mahia who did not wish to be named as he is not authorised to speak on the matter.

Sibomana is the second foreign player to have joined K’Ogalo this window following the arrival of 20-year-old Ugandan attacker Mugisha.

The Rwandese likes to operate on the left wing although he can also play centrally or on the right flank.

Gor are adding firepower to their ranks to reduce the goal scoring load off Benson Omala’s shoulders and also need depth following the departure of Ugandan Peter Lwasa and veteran George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo.

However, those two signings go against sentiments made by Gor chairman Ambrose Rachier last month that the club will not be going for foreign players in the wake of contractual disputes with former stars who saw them kicked out of the CAF Champions League due to late payment of money owed to them.

K’Ogalo, who begin their title defence against Sofapaka on August 26, have also signed Chris Ochieng, Kevin Omondi, Rooney Onyango, Alvin Ochieng, Kennedy Onyango, Kevin Juma, Lawrence Juma, and Rodgers Ouma.
