Arsenal are reportedly interested in a Serie A forward who has outshone Ademola Lookman this season.

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Fiorentina striker Moise Kean ahead of a potential summer transfer.

The 24-year-old has been in excellent form this season, scoring 19 goals in 28 appearances for the Italian club.

His 15 goals in Serie A (as of February 10, 2025) outdo last season’s Capocannoniere Lautaro Martinez (9), Ademola Lookman (10) and Marcus Thuram (13), with Mateo Retegui’s 20 top-flight strikes eclipsing the forward.

According to reports in Italy, Kean has a release clause of €52m (£43.3m) in his contract, which could be triggered this summer. This has alerted both Arsenal and Tottenham, who are both in the market for a new striker.

Kean previously played in the Premier League for Everton but struggled to make an impact. However, he has since rediscovered his form in Serie A and is now considered one of the best strikers in the league.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are looking for a long-term replacement for Gabriel Jesus, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury

Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to be interested in a deal for the former Juventus striker to ease the burden on Dominic Solanke and Richarlison, both of whom are currently injured.

What next for Kean?

Kean could be a good option for either club. He is a proven goalscorer with experience of playing in the Premier League.

However, his previous struggles in England may make Arsenal and Tottenham hesitant to make a move.

The Fiorentina man should feature when the Viola travel to defending Serie A champions Inter on Monday night.
