Tottenham Hotspur have initiated discussions with Brentford regarding a potential transfer, and his interest in a move to Spurs has reportedly intensified following the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new head coach.

Manchester United also remain keen on acquiring Bryan Mbeumo, having seen a previous bid of £45 million, plus £10 million in add-ons, rejected before Tottenham's pursuit of Frank began.

A source has indicated to Sky Sports News that Mbeumo currently favours a move to Manchester United, who are expected to submit an improved offer.

Brentford reportedly believe Bryan Mbeumo deserves the opportunity to join a larger club this summer, provided their valuation is met.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports' Craig Slater, Mbeumo admitted, "It (transfer speculation) is a bit new for me, I would say! I think it can be the life of a footballer, and you need to accept it."

Reflecting on his successful season, Mbeumo added that it has been one of his most successful as he lauded the team effort that propelled him to top honours. Brentford finished 10th and narrowly missed out on European football.

"It's been my best season so far in the Premier League. And even collectively, I think we did play very good games. I think we've been unlucky to chase the Europe spot, but I think it's been a fantastic season," he said.

Mbeumo spoke highly of former Brentford manager Thomas Frank, now at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur, noting that he gave his all for the club and they share a special bond.

"He's done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start. I think he developed the team so well. He developed me as a human and a player as well. So I can only wish him all the best, and I'm sure he's going to do well," Mbeumo said.

Mbeumo expressed confidence in Frank's abilities, saying, "He's really smart. He knows where he wants to bring the team, how he wants to play. He's been fantastic for Brentford. He'll have some time to adapt, with Champions League games and higher expectations, but I'm sure he'll do well. He knows how to talk to people and build a group. That's why we played so well."

Andrews Emerges as Candidate to Replace Frank

Brentford set-piece coach Keith Andrews has emerged as a leading candidate to succeed Frank. Andrews, a respected figure within the club, joined Frank's coaching staff last year.

Brentford previously promoted from within when appointing Frank, who was then assistant to Dean Smith. While Andrews is a strong contender, a final decision is yet to be made.

Bryan Mbeumo acknowledged the challenge of replacing Frank, stating, "It's big shoes to fill. He had seven years as head coach. So, obviously it's going to be changing, but let's see."

There is considerable uncertainty surrounding Bryan Mbeumo's final destination, given his preference for Manchester United and his eagerness to reunite with his former manager, Thomas Frank, at Tottenham.
