Brentford Break Silence Over Bryan Mbeumo’s Future After Man United’s Second Bid is Rejected

Brentford have opened up regarding the future of in-demand forward Bryan Mbeumo who is wanted by Manchester United although the Red Devils have had two bids rejected.

Brentford have commented on the transfer speculation linking their forward Bryan Mbeumo to a move away from the club with Manchester United reported to be firmly in the frame.

United's pursuit of Mbeumo has, however, hit a snag with their latest offer, reportedly worth £55 million plus add-ons, having been rejected by the London club.

Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, acknowledged the significant interest in Mbeumo following his 20-goal Premier League campaign last season but has seemed to suggest that he will not leave on the cheap.

"We expected lots of interest, and there has been lots of interest," Giles stated as per the Dailymail.

Mbeumo has been reported to be favouring a move to Old Trafford over a possible reunion with coach Thomas Frank who left Brentford for Tottenham recently and Giles respects the player’s desires.

What Have Brentford Said Over Mbeumo’s Future?

"Bryan has his own views on what he wants to do with the next part of his career and where he wants to end up, which is fair because it's his career. Those conversations have been ongoing now for a couple of weeks,” he explained.

However, while he recognises the forward’s preferences, Giles maintains that Mbeumo will only leave at the right price and is not ruling out a stay at the club if their valuation is not met.

"We've made our point clear that, obviously, having had such a great season, if he earned a massive move now and it was right for us financially, we'd be open to that," Giles affirmed.

"But if he ended up here next season, I wouldn't be massively surprised. It would be welcome. We'd be delighted. It would save me a massive headache, frankly. And that's not off the table as well, so let's see."

Brentford are believed to be looking for a figure in the region of £62.5 million fee that United paid Wolves for Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha but the Red Devils have so far not met their valuation with a first bid of £45 million plus add-ons, taking it to £55 million flatly rejected before the second one.
