Tusker FC defender Eugene Asike has extended his stay with the club, bringing renewed hope for a successful season ahead.

Tusker FC defender Eugene Asike has committed his loyalty to the 12-time FKF Premier League champions by signing a new contract that will see him remain with the club until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old, who previously had a stint with IF Karlstad Fotboll in Sweden's third-tier league, made a triumphant return to Tusker in September of last year.

In an official statement released by Tusker FC, the club expressed their delight over Asike's contract extension, stating, "We are delighted to announce that defender Eugene Asike has extended his contract until the end of the season."

This announcement comes as great news for the club's supporters, who hold Asike in high regard for his outstanding contributions on the field.

Asike had previously spent six fruitful years with the club, during which he played a pivotal role in securing two Premier League titles, one FKF Cup title, and earned the coveted title of Defender of the Year while captaining the team.

Besides his stints with Tusker FC, he has showcased his skills at other notable Kenyan clubs, including Kenya Commercial Bank and Sofapaka.

His international journey also began in 2012 when he made his debut for Harambee Stars.

Currently, Tusker stands proudly as the fourth-ranked team on the FKF Premier League table, amassing a commendable total of 31 points from 19 matches played in the ongoing season.

With Asike's contract extension, the club aims to strengthen its defense and push for a higher standing in the league, with the hopes of adding yet another Premier League title to their illustrious history.
