Kakamega Homeboyz are crying foul over what they term the unprocedural transfer of Harambee Stars striker Moses Shumah to Zambian outfit Power Dynamos.

Even before the ink dries on the contract signed between Harambee Stars striker Moses Shumah and Zambian champions Power Dynamos, there are already complaints.

Shumah was unveiled by Power Dynamos as one of their five new players on Friday, having left Kakamega Homeboyz, but the Kenyan club is not happy with how things have been done.

Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula claims the Zambian outfit violated the terms of their agreement as the two clubs had not agreed on a transfer by the time the player was being unveiled.

“I am disappointed with Power Dynamos. They have gone against the agreement we had with them. They requested the player to travel for negotiations—not to sign—and now I’m shocked to see they have signed and unveiled him,” Shimanula told Mozzart Sports.

The Homeboyz supremo claims a deal was never reached as Shumah was only given permission to travel to Zambia to explore the possibilities of a transfer and he even catered for the player’s expenses.

Shimanyula further says the reported transfer fee of over Ksh3 million has not been remitted to the FKF Premier League club and the striker is still contracted to Abana Abeingo.

“We have not received even a shilling from Dynamos, who are already claiming the player. As far as we’re concerned, Shumah remains a Kakamega Homeboyz player until they follow the right procedure and fulfil the necessary obligations,” added Shimanyula.

The latest development could lead to a legal tussle between the two clubs which might be detrimental to the player who is hoping to begin a new chapter of his career in Zambia.

Shumah has become a hot property after emerging as the FKF Premier League top scorer with 17 goals last season with his transfer to Zambia set to rule him out of the 2024 CHAN tournament.
