Kenyan players remain the most valuable in East Africa given the number of big names that play in various leagues across Europe and Asia.

However, there has been a shakeup in their market values recently with some major drops and some increases, according to the latest update by Transfermarkt.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga, defender Joseph Okumu and midfielder Timothy Ouma have suffered drops in their market values while Daniel Anyembe is among those who have had an increase.

5. Daniel Anyembe

Harambee Stars defender Daniel Anyembe has seen his value increase again since January this year from €1.3 million (Ksh196 million) to €1.7 million (Ksh257 million).

Anyembe, who plays for Danish side Viborg, remains a key cog for Harambee Stars with his ability to play at both right-back and centre-back making him favourite of coaches and recently penned a new contract at the club until 2028 and can increase his value further if he remains consistent.

4. Timothy Ouma

Timothy Ouma has seen his value drop in the last six months, having tumbled from €3 million (Ksh453 million) to €2 million (Ksh302 million) in the latest update made on June 17, 2025.

This is down to Ouma’s lack of gametime in the second half of the 2024-25 season when he moved from Swedish club Elfsborg to Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.

Ouma secured a big-money move in the January transfer window but it took him over three months before he made his debut for the club in the top flight, hence affecting his value.

3. Zak Vyner

English-born defender Zak Vyner is the third most valuable Kenyan player at €2.8 million (Ksh423 million) with his value unchanged since January 2025.

Vyner, who plays for English side Bristol City, joined the list owing to the Harambee Stars call-up he received in May 2024 although he is yet to turn out for Kenya.

4. Joseph Okumu

Joseph Okumu had been the most valuable player since October 2023 when he saw his value surge from €4 million (Ksh602 million) to €9 million (Ksh1.4 billion) but according to the latest update by Transfermarkt, he is now valued at €7 million (Ksh1.1 billion).

The French-based defender saw his value drop by €2 million (Ksh302 million) after his club Stade Reims suffered relegation from Ligue 1 and has now dropped from top spot to second and might need to move to a top flight slide to avoid slipping further down in value.

5. Michael Olunga

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga is now the most valuable Kenyan player following the drop in value of defender Joseph Okumu.

Olunga, whose value also dropped from €8 million (Ksh1.2 billion) six months ago to now to €7.5 million (Ksh1.13 billion) is now the top rated Kenyan star and he can increase it further by firing his new club Al Arabi to success in the Qatar Stars League next season.
