FKF CEO Barry Otieno was present to officiate the ceremony.

Harambee Stars legendary goalkeeper Francis Onyiso and Nairobi City Stars forward Ezekiel Odera are among the 29 coaches who received their CAF D certificates on Firday, March 24 at the Kariobangi North Primary School.

Onyiso noted that sourcing for talent at the grassroots motivated him to begin the coaching classes. He added that with the knowledge gained, he will look to impact youngsters at the grassroots.

“I want to use the knowledge I have gained to educate the players in the grassroots. I want them to become great players like me or even better than me,” he said.

On his part, Moses Odhiambo believes that with the knowledge gained, he can nurture young talent to match the quality of Michael Olunga and Victor Wanyama.

He said that having achieved almost everything as a player, he decided to venture into coaching.

“I have played in the country, Europe and USA for a while and I have achieved a lot. There is so much talent in the youth and I believe I will be able to impact them,” he said.

Meanwhile, KCB defender Kevin Otieno said he wanted to get the coaching skills as he plans his life after football.

“I wanted to get the knowledge in order to spread awareness to the youngsters back at home and in the schools. It is also a way of preparing for my life after being a player,” he said.
