This marks the organisation's fourth Olympic Games sponsorship following their first major sponsorship during the 2012 London Olympics.

Kenya Breweries Limited through their brand Tusker have invested Ksh 30 million to boost athletes' preparations and assist the National Olympic Committee of Kenya to meet the logistical requirements as they gear up for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Speaking during the sponsorship event held at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani on Wednesday morning, Mark Ocitti emphasised on the importance of sponsoring the athletes who will be heading to the global bonanza scheduled for Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11.

This marks the organisation's fourth Olympic Games sponsorship following their first major sponsorship during the 2012 London Olympics.

KBL then sponsored top athletes for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and later came through for them during the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Speaking during the event, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya president Paul Tergat lauded the effort of KBL through Tusker for being authentic and walking with them ahead of the crucial event scheduled for later this year.

He also promised that the boost would motivate athletes to do well and noted that the Olympic Games are one of the most lucrative events and they need to be treated with utmost respect.

“Things have changed now, the way we walk with our partners is very different…back then, it was very difficult to even get sponsors.

“We truly appreciate this partnership…if consistency and reliability was a person, then it would be Tusker and by extension the EABL would be one.

“We have so many talented athletes who are vying for their tickets to the Olympics and when you get a chance, go out there and shine,” Tergat said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ocitti also expressed his elation to have once again come on board and work with NOC-K and the athletes as they prepare for the event.

He noted that their sponsorship is not merely financial since they also want to show the whole world what Kenya is capable of.

“I commend the National Olympic Committee of Kenya for their great leadership and promoting the sport through preparing the athletes to go and represent the country at the Olympics.

“This sponsorship shows our unwavering support for the athletes as they embark on their journey to the Olympic Games and I want to assure NOC-K of our commitment and we wish them a successful journey.

“Particularly, we just want to appreciate the talent that our country has produced and as we gear up to showcase this talent among the world’s best, we want to ensure that you all excel,” he said.
