Mary Moraa oozed class as she controlled the 800m race and shocked her Briton opponent to take top honours at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha.
Reigning World 800m champion Mary Moraa has yet again proven her prowess in the two-lap race with a commanding win at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar.
This was only but Moraa’s first Diamond League race of the season and was looking very comfortable as she controlled the race from gun to tape.
Great Britain’s Jemma Reekie looked to challenge Kisii Express but her efforts were in vain when Moraa unleashed a finishing kick with a few meters to the finish line. She clocked an impressive 1:57.91, a season-best.

She then continued her winning streak, winning the 400m race at the African Games national trials before dominating the 400m at the African Games in Accra, Ghana and propelled the 4x400m mixed relay to a bronze medal at the continental showpiece.

Kenyan marathon runner Josephine Chepkoech provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit
A Kenyan marathon runner has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit over alleged use of prohibited substances.
From there, Moraa was also in a class of her own at the World Athletics Relays national trials but could not go for the showpiece since she was preparing for the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar.
The 23-year-old started her 800m campaign at the Kip Keino Classic, winning title after clocking an impressive 1:57.96 to cross the line. At the moment, her focus now shifts to the 600m at the USTAF Grand Prix in Los Angeles where she intends to shatter Caster Semenya’s world record.
