Finally! Sha’Carri Richardson’s fans have a reason to look forward to the weekend since the reigning world 100m champion has confirmed her return to the track after a long hiatus.

Sha’Carri Richardson’s last competition was at the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels, Belgium, where she finished a disappointing eighth in the women’s race won by Julien Alfred.

The Olympic 100m silver medallist was coming off a mixed Olympic campaign, having been a favourite to win the women’s 100m final but ended up finishing second behind Julien Alfred.

She then went on to win the women’s 100m before setting a world-leading time of 10.71 seconds in the women’s 100m at the US Olympic trials. She finished fourth in the 200m.
