Rome Diamond League: Time, Where to Watch Ferdinand Omanyala, Fred Kerley Clash as Beatrice Chebet Targets World Record

Attention shifts to the Italian capital of Rome on Friday, June 6 for the fifth Diamond League meeting of the 2025 season with some big names lined up.

World 10,00m record holder Beatrice Chebet, her 5,000m counterpart Gudaf Tsegay, Africa record holders Ferdinand Omanyala and Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith, Olympics 100m bronze medalist Fred Kerley are among those set light up Rome.

There is so much at stake as Chebet goes for possibly the 5,000m word record, currently held by Tsegay, Ta Lou-Smith seeks to start her Diamond League season on a high while Omanyala is eyeing his first 100m sub-10 of the campaign.

The women’s 5,000m and men’s 1000m are definitely the ones to look out for as Chebet clashes with Tsegay while Omanyala is up against a strong field that includes Kerley, Trayvon Bromell, Courtney Lindsey, Emmanuel Eseme, Brandon Hicklin, Hakim Sani Brown, Chituru Ali and Filippo Tortu.

The Rome Diamond League will be staged at the iconic Stadio Olimpico which is home to Serie A sides AS Roma and Lazio on Friday night.

The Rome Diamond League will begin at 5pm Kenyan time but the televised programme will start at 10:01 pm.
