Jose Mourinho: Cost of Sacking Portuguese Manager at Fenerbahce and Record Payouts Earned
Jose Mourinho's Turkish adventure has ended with his dismissal, ten months before his contract with Fenerbahce, signed in 2024, was due to expire.
The Istanbul club terminated the Portuguese manager's agreement after he failed for a second time to qualify for the Champions League group stage, but will pay him €15 million in compensation.
The dismissal from the Turkish runners-up is the seventh of Mourinho's career and comes after he was also let go by AS Roma, with whom he had won the Conference League and led the Giallorossi to the Europa League final.

That decision came after Roma had won just one of their last six Serie A matches, with his tenure in Italy ending after a 3-1 defeat to Milan.
Now, following a 1-0 loss in the second leg of the play-off in Lisbon against Benfica, Jose is packing his bags once again.

Mourinho has received €80 million from English clubs alone!
However, the 62-year-old manager won't leave Istanbul empty-handed. The two-time Champions League winner, who failed to secure any trophies with Fenerbahce, will add a substantial €15 million to his bank account.
According to the Turkish daily Fanatik, this is the compensation sum the club's chairman will pay for the termination of his contract, which was due to expire on June 30, 2026.
When he signed with Fenerbahce, Mourinho secured an incredible salary for the Super Lig: €10 million, plus performance bonuses, which Jose failed to earn, both in domestic competitions and in Europe.
Nevertheless, even though he is far from his former success, the Portuguese manager compensates for the damage to his reputation with significant financial payouts.
The €15 million is added to the hefty sums he has collected from the previous six teams that have shown him the door. Below is a breakdown of all the compensation money Mourinho has received for early departures from six clubs (Chelsea twice):
