Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam has never hidden his desire to join paid ranks abroad and it now seems like his dream could be realized soon.

Ogam, who was one of the standout players for Kenya at the CHAN 2024 tournament, had been attracting interest from teams out of the country even before he completed a single top flight season.

The Tusker FC forward had scored 13 goals by the midway point of the 2024-25 season, before an injury slowed him down, but his recovery coincided with the start of the CHAN tournament and he proved his worth by scoring two match-winning goals against Morocco and Zambia at the group stage.

Less than a week since their elimination from the tournament, Ogam is reported to be on his way to Austria, where he will join Wolfsberger as per Mozzart Sport.

The striker is reported to be finalising the finer details of the transfer whose terms and length of contract are yet to be revealed.

That would represent a step up from other deals that were mooted for Ogam early this year as he was close to joining Algerian club USM Alger in January, before the move fell through, while Swedish side Ostersunds FK were also unsuccessful in their pursuit of the striker.

Wolfsberger are one of the oldest Austrian clubs, having been founded in 1931, and finished fourth in the 12-team Austrian Bundesliga last season to earn a place in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.

They could qualify for the group stages of the competition if they avoid defeat against Omonia Nicosia as they hold a 2-1 first leg advantage in the playoffs ahead of the return match in Cyprus on Thursday night.
