Impala have ended the season unbeaten and will be looking to lift the cup this time round.
Mwamba RFC and Impala Roans have yet again booked a slot to clash in the final of the Kenya Women’s Cup with the venue and dates yet to be confirmed.
In their previous final last season, Mwamba dominated the match to win the title after claiming a hard-fought 15-6 victory.
Mwamba on Saturday, March 4, thrashed debutants Western Spears 38-07 in the semifinal playoffs staged at the Impala Club Grounds to successfully get a slot in the final.
Mwamba captain Atieno observed that, despite Western Spears making their first appearance, they were a good opponent and if they were not keen, they would have given them a run for their money.
Atieno has said they are going full throttle in a quest to defend their Kenya Women’s Cup title.
“We are here to defend our title and we must either win or win…there is no in between,” Atieno said.
Meanwhile, in another match played at the same venue between Impala Saracens and Northern Suburbs, Impala put up a good fight to win 26-5.
In the first half of the match, Impala defended successfully to avoid any score from the Northern Suburbs. In the second half, a try score from Rose Otieno saved the Suburbs from ending the game scoreless.
Impala have ended the season unbeaten and will be looking to lift the cup this time round. Mwamba, on their part, have won four matches out of the five played. They lost to Impala Roans 17-28 in their clash on January 18.
