The disputed match led to fines and penalties against Zoo FC, prompting an appeal.

FKF Division One side Zoo FC has launched an appeal against the recent decision by the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee.

The decision in question awarded Nairobi United the aborted playoff game between the two teams, a move that has ignited a storm of disagreement.

The match, which occurred just a week ago, was marred by unfortunate crowd trouble, resulting in the suspension of the game during the closing stages with Nairobi United leading by a single goal.

The incident prompted the involvement of the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee for a resolution.

Beyond confirming Nairobi United's promotion to the prestigious National Super League (NSL), the Committee's decision also delivered significant penalties against Zoo.

A substantial fine of Ksh300,000 was imposed on Zoo, accompanied by a deduction of three crucial points.

The Committee additionally decreed that Zoo FC must play five of its home games next season behind closed doors. This drastic step has left the club in a state of disbelief and vehement protest.

Zoo FC's coach, Herman Iswekha, confirmed the club's intention to contest the decision through an appeal process.

"My boss (Ken Ochieng) has confirmed to me that the appeal has been sent to FKF, but I can't talk much about that matter as of now," he stated to Pulse Sports.

Iswekha went on to emphasize the strength of their appeal, asserting that the circumstances leading to the match's abandonment are well-known to the public.

The gaffer expressed cautious optimism, stating, "We will be waiting for a favorable outcome."

Moreover, Iswekha denied the validity of reports circulating online regarding the content of their appeal.

The head coach clarified that the information being shared is not representative of the actual document they have submitted for the appeal.
