Ruben Amorim remains confident that Manchester United can redeem their disappointing season by reaching the Europa League final despite their poor Premier League form.

Ruben Amorim is confident about Manchester United’s prospects of getting into the Europa League final as the Red Devils face Athletic Bilbao in the second leg of the semifinal at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The Portuguese insisted that they might have heavily lost in the Premier League match against Brentford over the weekend but that is past tense and they are ready for the battle as they look to secure a Champions League spot.

Manchester United claimed the win in the first leg of the match, scoring 3-0 and going into the second leg, they are favourites to win.

Ruben Amorim revealed that it is hard to predict what would happen, noting that Manchester United players are different from other teams.

Amorim revealed that, however, they have to make every second count in the match and score as many goals as they can in a bid to advance to the final.

“I feel we need to score to go to the next round. Then we use Brentford, we are near a draw then we suffer a goal and another one,” he said as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“We will have to suffer a bit to go to the final, and we are ready to suffer. Sometimes we are one team during the game, and then we lose our minds a little bit.”

Ruben Amorim further explained that, looking at the Premier League and Europa League records, things have been different at Old Trafford.

He admitted that Manchester United have failed to show up in the Premier League since his arrival, but revealed that winning a European title would ease that embarrassment.

Manchester United suffered their 16th league defeat of the season, their highest tally in 35 years, during their weekend clash with Brentford.

“If you look at our season, anything is possible. We have to understand that one goal can change anything: the momentum of the game, one sending-off, you saw it a week ago. We are fighting to win the game. We are thinking about winning the game,” Ruben Amorim revealed.

“For me, in that moment, and you look at the Premier League, we are the worst team since I arrived in terms of results. That is my idea. So we will not change anything. We know that this season was disappointing.”

Despite Manchester United’s disappointing Premier League campaign, Ruben Amorim remains optimistic about turning their season around by securing a spot in the Europa League final. He believes that with focus and the right mindset, anything is still possible.
