The Muhoroni-based side will face either Migori Youth or Mara Sugar in FKFPL promotion and relegation playoffs

As the FKF Premier League nears its conclusion, Wazito FC coach Charles Odera has issued a stern warning to his players, emphasising the importance of avoiding complacency in the upcoming playoff.

Odera believes that any hint of relaxation could prove to be the death knell for their hopes of securing a spot in the Premier League next season.

The former APS Bomet coach  acknowledged the immense challenge posed by National Super League teams, highlighting their relentless determination to treat every game as a final.

"National Super League teams are very tough as they play every game like a final," he said. "I am telling my boys not to relax. We have to work harder and prepare well for a two-legged playoff."

With Wazito's fate hanging in the balance, he has urged his team to redouble their efforts and prepare diligently for the crucial two-legged playoff battle.

The Muhoroni-based club narrowly escaped relegation with a thrilling victory over Bidco United in their penultimate league fixture.

The narrow 1-0 win has granted them a lifeline, but their playoff opponents will likely be either Mara Sugar or Migori Youth, two formidable teams vying for third spot in the fiercely competitive National Super League.

While Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is yet to announce the playoff dates, anticipation is mounting among fans as both leagues reach their conclusion.

Wazito FC, fully aware of the challenges ahead, understand the importance of thorough preparation and maintaining a winning mentality throughout the playoff campaign.

The final league match against Mathare United on Sunday at Muhoroni Stadium holds little significance for Wazito, as their 16th-place finish is already confirmed, rendering the game a dead rubber.

However, the team's focus remains unwavering as they aim to conclude the season on a positive note and carry that momentum into the playoffs.
