Moses Adagala expresses confidence as Wazito FC prepares for a crucial showdown against Migori Youth.

Wazito FC chairman Moses Adagala has expressed confidence ahead of the highly anticipated promotion/relegation playoff against Migori Youth in the 2023 FKF Premier League.

The first leg of the playoff will take place at the Migori Stadium on Saturday, July 15, 2023, with the second leg scheduled for July 22, 2023, at the Muhoroni Stadium.

Adagala remains optimistic about his team's chances of securing their place in the Premier League for another season.

"The season was tough for us, but I thank God that we made it to the playoff and we are going to remain in the Premier League," said Adagala, emphasizing his belief in the team's abilities.

Wazito, who clinched the NSL championship in 2019, will be aiming to retain their spot in the top tier through the playoffs for the second time, following their successful campaign against Murang'a Seal in August 2021.

With a 16th-place finish, Wazito narrowly missed safety by a mere three points, while Mathare United and Vihiga Bullets succumbed to relegation to the second tier for the upcoming season.

As the playoff approaches, Wazito's players and coaching staff will be determined to prove their mettle and ensure their continued presence among the elite teams in Kenyan football.

The playoff matches, consisting of two legs, will each last for 90 minutes. The team that emerges victorious on aggregate will secure a coveted slot in the 2023/24 FKF Premier League.

However, in the event of a tie on aggregate after regular time in the second match, the team with the highest number of away goals will be declared the winner of the playoff.

In the unlikely scenario where the teams remain tied both on aggregate and away goals, the match will proceed to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

The winner of this subsequent shootout will earn the much-desired place in the top tier for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Migori Youth, who finished third in the 2022/23 FKF National Super League with an impressive 62 points, will be eagerly seeking promotion to the top tier for the first time in the club's history.

Their strong performance throughout the season has earned them a spot in this crucial playoff, and they will be determined to seize the opportunity and make their mark in Kenyan football.

The clash between Wazito FC and Migori Youth promises to be a captivating battle, as both teams fight for their respective aspirations.

With Wazito looking to maintain their Premier League status and Migori Youth yearning for promotion, the stage is set for an enthralling display of skill, determination, and passion.
