Bullets will pray that Wazito and Mathare United secure losses on Wednesday.

Vihiga Bullets caretaker coach Milton Kidiga has hit out at his players following a 3-2 loss to Sofapaka on Tuesday.

The loss at Bukhungu Stadium left Bullets at the bottom of the table with eight points from 28 matches played this season.

Struggling Bullets had gone ahead in the 43rd minute through former APS Bomet striker Joseph Oyugi, but Sofapaka found an equalizer at the stroke of the halftime mark courtesy of Sunday Ikhekai.

Vihiga came rejuvenated in the second half and went ahead in the 48th minute, but Stanley Omondi leveled the matter in the 61st minute before sealing his brace and the winning goal with 20 minutes remaining to the end of the match.

On another afternoon where a haphazard defensive display undid tactics, Kidiga appeared frustrated after the full-time whistle.

“I am not happy at all with my players as this game was easy for us to win. We failed terribly in defense and they also lacked concentration when it mattered,” Kidiga said after the match.

Sofapaka coach David Ouma on his part pointed out the strong and weak points that Vihiga showed in the match and where the game was won.

"Vihiga were stronger in the wider areas and they were also good in one on one situations but they left some spaces in their own half and that was where we utilized and scored all the three goals,” he said.

The victory sees Sofapaka move to 12th in the league standings, while the loss left Vihiga Bullets rooted at the bottom of the table with six matches to the end of the season.

Bullets face Bandari in their next league clash away in Mombasa on Saturday, while Sofapaka will welcome Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Annex.
