Harambee Stars Goalkeeper On What Fans Should Know Ahead of Chad Friendlies
Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo has made a bold promise to fans ahead of their two international friendlies against Chad.
The two friendly matches will be used to prepare Harambee Stars for the African Nations Championships (CHAN), and the players have to give their best to boost their confidence ahead of the continental tournament.
CHAN will be hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from August 2 to 30 and being among the host nations, Harambee Stars will have to rise to the occasion with the Chad friendlies being a stepping stone to their preparations.

The team selected comprises young and experienced players, most of whom play in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and will be in action at CHAN.

Farouk Shikalo believes Harambee Stars have the capability of making a mark in their friendly matches, because they are preparing for CHAN.
The Bandari FC goalkeeper pointed out that they want to showcase their abilities and make Benni McCarthy proud.
Shikalo also expressed excitement about having a young squad and players who have been in the team for a while, noting that it is a great blend.
He pointed out that they are working around the clock to inspire the youngsters and motivate them to be better players and earn more Harambee Stars call-ups in the future.
“Our fans should expect nothing but the best because this is our preparation for CHAN, and we want to showcase our talent,” Farouk Shikalo told FKF Media.
“The mood in the camp is great, and we have done our final training very well ahead of the friendlies. Ahead of our first encounter against Chad, everyone has the morale, and everyone is ready to give their best.
“It’s good to have fresh blood, and it will be a mix of energy and experience. We want to try as much as possible to motivate them because we are all Kenyans and we are here to raise the Kenyan flag.”
With a united squad blending youth and experience, Harambee Stars are aiming for strong performances against Chad as they build towards CHAN.
