The Kenya national football team, Harambee Stars, are gearing up for a historic double-header against Chad in a pair of international friendly matches at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.

These two fixtures will mark the first time Kenya faces Chad in any competition—and head coach Benni McCarthy will be looking to notch his first win since taking charge of the Stars.

The opening game is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, with kickoff set for 18:00 EAT. The two sides will clash again at the same venue on Tuesday, June 10, also kicking off at 18:00 EAT.

These friendlies represent the third and fourth assignments for McCarthy at the helm of Harambee Stars.

The South African legend began his tenure in March during Kenya’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. His debut match saw Kenya play out a pulsating 3-3 draw away to Gambia, before narrowly losing 2-1 at home to Gabon.

Their upcoming opponents, Chad, also endured a rough March window, suffering a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Ghana before losing 1-0 to Comoros in their second match. Both teams, therefore, come into this international window eager to correct course and build momentum.

Kimani: Players Raring to Go

As previously reported by Pulse Sports, Assistant coach Anthony Kimani has assured fans that the players are in high spirits and fighting hard to earn starting spots.

“The mood in camp is great, and every player who has been selected is trying to give his best,” Kimani told FKF Media

“They are giving us a very good headache as the technical bench about who to select to start the game against Chad. Everyone is raring to go and showing the coach that they want to represent us come June 7.”

As Kenya prepares for these crucial warm-up matches, the coaching staff will be eager to assess combinations, test new talent, and solidify a tactical identity heading into the next phase of competitive fixtures.
