The Super Eagles midfielder highlighted just how relentless Rice is on the pitch, saying, "Nah, he’s a big baller. Even when he was at West Ham, not only is he great technically, he runs everywhere, he covers every blade of grass."

Iwobi admitted that trying to shake off Rice when playing in midfield was a frustrating challenge, saying, “When I’ve played in midfield it’s annoying trying to track him and get away from him.

According to Iwobi, Rice’s mix of technical brilliance and off-the-ball work rate makes him an invaluable asset for Arsenal and hints at a sky-high ceiling.

The former Gunner concluded, "He’s good on the ball, and he’s gonna work as hard off the ball. He’s a great player for Arsenal to have, and for me, he’s definitely one to be world-class,"

Declan Rice's Arsenal impact laid bare

It’s easy to see why Iwobi is so bullish about Rice’s future. Since his high-profile move from West Ham to Arsenal in 2023, Declan Rice has been nothing short of sensational.

Slotting seamlessly into Mikel Arteta’s midfield, Rice has been a consistent starter, racking up 43 appearances in all competitions.

His output has been impressive too: seven goals and 10 assists, including two jaw-dropping free-kicks during Arsenal’s crucial Champions League semifinal clash against Real Madrid.

With performances like these, Iwobi’s assertion that Rice is on the verge of world-class status doesn’t seem far-fetched, and it feels like a matter of when, not if.
