Genoa secure signing of promising Nigeroan talent David Ankeye from FC Sheriff for €2.5 million.

Genoa has successfully reached an agreement to sign the young and promising striker, David Ankeye, from FC Sheriff.

The deal, completed for a fee of approximately €2.5 million, is set to see the 2002-born forward join Genoa on a permanent transfer. An Emerging Talent

Born in 2002, Ankeye is a highly-rated striker who has already demonstrated his abilities on the field at a young age. His acquisition serves as a testament to Genoa's focus on building for the future rather than relying solely on established stars.

Ankeye’s career began at Sidos Academy, a grassroots club located in Lagos, Nigeria, which is renowned for producing talents like ex-Golden Eaglets winger Akinkunmi Amoo.

From his humble beginnings at Sidos Academy, Ankeye's talent quickly caught the eye of scouts, leading him to make a significant move to the Swedish club Hammarby. After his stint in Sweden, he embarked on an adventure to the Tunisian club Hammam Sousse, where he truly made his mark.

Ankeye continued to develop and impress during his six-month stay in Moldova, which ultimately led to his latest career move—a transfer to Serie A side Genoa.

His progression from grassroots football to professional clubs in Europe and now to Serie A is a testament to his dedication and skill, and he joins the ranks of budding Nigerian talents making waves in the footballing world.
