Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt are on the brink of securing the signature of Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi from Viktoria Plzen in a bid to bolster their attacking options for the rest of the 2023/24 season.

Frankfurt set to add Durosinmi to attacking ranks

The impending transfer, reported by Bild, is anticipated to be finalized in the coming days, with Durosinmi's medical examination scheduled for Thursday, the 28th of December.

The reported fee for acquiring Durosinmi's talents stands at approximately €9 million, and the striker is expected to commit to a contract with Frankfurt that extends until 2028.

Despite currently nursing an injury, the 20-year-old's setback is not as severe as initially feared. The timeline for his return to action remains uncertain, casting a shadow on his participation in Frankfurt's first training session of the new year on January 2nd, as per reports from Sport1.

Frankfurt look for AFCON cover with Durosinmi signing

Durosinmi represents Frankfurt's second signing during the winter transfer window, joining the ranks alongside Donny van de Beek. The young Nigerian striker is poised to be a valuable asset, especially considering the likely absence of Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush is anticipated to be called up to represent the Egyptian national team in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, leaving a void that Durosinmi could potentially fill.

As Frankfurt supporters eagerly await the formalization of this transfer, the prospect of Durosinmi's dynamic playing style and goal-scoring prowess adds an extra layer of anticipation to the club's aspirations for the remainder of the season.
