The two teams played out a goalless draw in the first leg but a winner must be found in Muhoroni on Saturday

Migori Youth and Wazito FC have a date with destiny when they face off in a must-win Football Kenya Federation Premier League relegation-promotion playoff second leg in Muhoroni on Saturday.

Both sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg last weekend but there are no two ways about it this weekend when only victory will suffice for either side.

The match was a cagey affair from the onset with both sides exercising caution. Both teams created few scoring chances with Wazito hitting the crossbar and Migori Youth forcing a great save from Tom Muthomi.

Wazito will be counting on their recent good home record that has seen them draw with Gor Mahia and beat Tusker FC as they seek to retain their top flight status while Migori eye a first stab at top flight football.

Migori finished third in the second tier National Super League after fending off stiff competition from Mara Sugar while Wazito escaped direct relegation following a 16th place finish in the Premier League.

Should there be a tie on aggregate after the end of regular time in the second leg, the team with the greatest number of away goals shall be declared the winner of the playoff.

Additionally, if the teams are tied both on aggregate and on the away goals rule, the match shall proceed to penalties. The winner of the subsequent shootout shall secure a place in next season’s top tier.

Winners of the playoff will begin their Premier League campaign against Nairobi City Stars on August 27.
