The Tanzanian becomes Police’s third recruit in January following the arrivals of  Harambee Stars pair of Samwel Onyango and Duncan Otieno.

Kenya Police have bolstered their squad even further by completing the signing of Tanzanian attacker Rashid Mchelenga from league outfit Pamba Jiji FC.

The development comes just one day after they added bite by bringing Harambee Stars pair of Duncan Otieno and Samwel Onyango as coach Salim Babu seeks to get his team to finish as high as possible in the league and stake a claim at qualifying for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup by winning the 2023/2024 FKF Cup.

Mchelenga has finally joined the club on a permanent basis having trained with the club last year, but failed to sign for the Law Enforcers.

In a statement released by the club, Rashid will add goals to the side in their quest to achieve their targets for the season.

“Goalscoring sensation Rashid Mchelenga has been recruited to our ranks. Welcome ‘Chidi’,” the statement read.

Mchelenga also played for Mbeya City prior to joining Pemba in the second tier  and will be hoping to compete for the starting striker berth with former Gor Mahia striker Tito Okello and long-standing forward Clinton Kinanga.
