Millers hope to sweeten their quest for premier league honors with help from above.

FKF Premier League title hopefuls Nzoia Sugar have sought divine intervention ahead of the second leg of the season penciled to start on Wednesday 8th March 2022.

The prayer session, according to a Facebook post by the club, was held at the club's training grounds beginning Monday and will fluctuate in intensity over then next few weeks.

"If God is for us who can be against us.This was the message delivered today during prayers.

We are optimistic that we shall post outstanding results and become the champions," the post reads.

As per the photos attached to the post, the prayers were attended by players, officials, and community members.

The prayers came at a time when the Sugar Millers made terrific progress in the 2023/2023 league season.

Nzoia is currently second in the league table after 17 games, four points adrift of table leader Gor Mahia.

These results have left Salim Babu's coached side on the course to win their maiden league title.

However, their mettle will be tested when they face Gor Mahia on Wednesday, March 8, at Sudi Stadium.

Nzoia were beaten 1-0 by Gor Mahia away in November last year in the season's opening game.

The Sugar Millers have registered two consecutive draws as they look to mount a severe challenge to the title, and a victory over K'Ogalo will close the gap between the two sides to one point.

Nzoia barely survived relegation in the 2020/2021 season as they finished 14th on the log with 33 points from 32 points. Their performance could have been better in the void 2021/2022 season, as they finished in the same position with just 37 points.

In a recent interview, Babu said they are under no pressure and will not exert much pressure on themselves.

"For us as a team, finishing in top position will be good for us. The boys are ambitious and this season we won't struggle with fighting relegation, at the same time we don't want to look over ambitious by discussing the league title," he explained.

Nzoia comes into the encounter against Gor having registered five wins and five draws at Sudi Stadium, which they have made a fortress this season.

The Sugar Millers are looking to bolster their squad in the mid-season transfer window, and they are set to acquire two defenders following the exit of experienced Salim Odeka.
