K’Ogalo have set an unbeaten record in the league this year, which puts them on course to replicate their 2015 season when they won it unbeaten.

Gor Mahia head coach Johnathan McKinstry has revealed why he is cautious after his side ended top of the table in 2023 with a win over Bandari in their last league encounter of the year.

K’Ogalo have set an unbeaten record in the league this year, which puts them on course to replicate their 2015 season when they won it unbeaten.

However, the head coach has expressed caution, saying that his charges must not believe into their own hype from outside of the club which could make them bring “egos” into the dressing room.

“If we take our eye off the ball and start buying into what people outside the club want to talk about  in bigging the team up and if we allow ego to come into the dressing room, then you can easily lose football matches,” McKinstry said.

The Northern Irish tactician believes there is a long way to go for his charges despite being ahead of second placed Posta Rangers by five points.

“We are really pleased with where we are and we are pleased with the work the boys have done but we know there is a long way to go.”

Gor Mahia's journey this season has been nothing short of exceptional. After 16 matches, they have accumulated an impressive 34 points, boasting nine wins and seven draws. Their defense has been resolute, conceding only seven goals in the 16 matches played, a testament to their unwavering consistency.
