Manchester United players face limited tickets and no celebration parade for Europa League final amid ongoing club-wide cost-cutting measures.
Several steps have been taken behind the scenes of Manchester United’s Europa League campaign that are leaving a sour taste among players and staff — and it has little to do with anything happening on the pitch.
The countdown begins to the highly anticipated Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur on 21 May at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.
Manchester United players have been told they will receive just two complimentary tickets each for the game.

According to BBC, while they are permitted to purchase up to ten additional tickets, they will also bear the responsibility of arranging travel and accommodation for their guests.

Apart form ticket limitations, United have made it clear that the club’s 15,000-ticket allocation is being prioritised for paying fans rather than club staff or extended entourages.
At the weekend, it emerged that United staff will not receive complimentary tickets for the final, reversing what was previously common practice. Instead, they are being offered a consolation: a viewing party in central Manchester.
Other austerity moves include scrapping free lunches for staff and making a number of redundancies at various levels within the organisation.
If United go on to lift the trophy in Bilbao, celebrations are likely to be subdued. The club plans to hold a modest barbecue at the Carrington training ground rather than a city-wide parade.
Tottenham Hotspur Keep Fans Guessing
By contrast, Tottenham Hotspur have yet to reveal their full post-final plans, but expectations are high that they will hold a public trophy parade in the event of victory.

A celebratory route through North London would align them with recent winners like Newcastle United and Liverpool, both of whom have honoured recent triumphs with parades through their respective cities.
Liverpool are due to host their own parade on 26 May following their Premier League title win. Newcastle paraded through the streets back in March after clinching the Carabao Cup.
The lack of ambition for a public celebration by United has been met with quiet discontent, especially as the club has not held such a parade since 2013, when Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out in style. There was even disappointment among players in 2008 when no city-wide event was held after their Champions League victory over Chelsea.
Hosting a parade this time, however, presents complications. Unlike their 2017 Europa League final win in Stockholm, this year's final comes before United's final Premier League game, with Aston Villa set to visit Old Trafford on 25 May.
