Leicester City's young winger has attracted loan interest from Championship and League One clubs after impressing in Premier League 2.

Kenyan winger Silko Thomas Otieno is on the radar of several English Championship and League One clubs eager to secure his services on loan as he continues to shine in Leicester City’s youth ranks.

The 19-year-old has made a notable impact in the Premier League 2, boasting a tally of five goals and four assists in just 16 appearances for the under-21 team.

Despite being a regular feature on Leicester’s bench during last season’s FA Cup matches against Birmingham and Bournemouth, Otieno is yet to debut for the senior team.

This situation has sparked interest among lower-tier clubs, keen on offering him more regular first-team action.

"Interested clubs are now waiting for Leicester to decide whether to loan Thomas out, or whether he will be kept around the squad for the upcoming Premier League season," reported Football Insider.

Since transitioning from Chelsea’s academy in September 2023, Otieno has continued to impress at the King Power Stadium.

His participation in England's youth teams, including the under-15 and under-18 squads, has only heightened his profile.

The chance to go on loan could significantly bolster his development, mirroring the path of other young talents who have thrived after temporary stints away from their parent clubs.

Last season, Otieno also featured in the EFL Trophy matches against Fleetwood, Wigan, and Tranmere.

He notably scored the decisive goal in Leicester’s 1-0 victory over Tranmere, marking his successful initiation against more seasoned players.

Born in England to Kenyan parents, Otieno is versatile enough to operate effectively on either wing, though he predominantly excels on the right and as an attacking midfielder.

Despite his early appearances for England, he remains eligible to play for Kenya at the senior international level.
