Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho believes that his side has been disadvantaged by the scheduling in Serie A, which favours other teams

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has declared that his side has been unfairly treated by the organisers of the Italian Serie A, who have saddled the Gialorossi with an impossible schedule.

Mourinho criticises Serie A scheduling of Roma games

Mourinho has been critical of his Roma side’s treatment by Serie A officials, who chose to give them a gruelling schedule after European games.

Roma compete in the Europa League, which takes place on Thursdays, and Mourinho remains baffled at the fact that his side are expected to play at the latest on Sundays following their European adventures, while others get at least four days of rest.

Speaking ahead of Roma’s Serie A game against Lecce, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss told reporters, "Some people don't know what it means to play after three days; they don't know what fatigue is.

The ‘Special One’ further iterated the problem, saying, "After European matches, we are always the ones to be penalised by the schedule. The same will happen in the derby. Lazio will have an advantage.

"If our club doesn't ask this question with regards to the calendar and I always have to ask it, maybe I shouldn't."

True to Mournho’s statements, Roma will only get two days of rest when they play Lazio following their match on Thursday against Slavia Prague, while the Biancocelesti will get a break of up to five days.
