FKFPL 'I am not a magician' - Logarusic calls for patience after mixed start at Police

Zdravko Logarusic believes his charges are improving game by game since he first took charge of Police after frustrating Gor Mahia to a 0-0 draw.

Kenya Police FC head coach Zdravko Logarusic has expressed robust confidence in his team's progressive performance since his appointment in October.

This optimism stems from the squad's recent performance, culminating in a staunch 0-0 standoff against reigning league champions Gor Mahia, in a keenly contested duel at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.

The Croatian head coach further said that the draw against his former team was a fair result in an encounter that saw very few and far chances created.

Speaking after the match, Logarusic insisted that both sides had spells where they dominated, but did not make those spells count.

“I think the draw was a fair result,” Logarusic said. “They have some parts of the game they dominated but did not score, also we got parts of the game we dominated but did not score,” he added.

“Football, we have to play for the goals and today, they did not score, my team also did not score, that means, we have to accept the draw and focus on the next game.”

"I hope my team will lift up its game and I generally hope we are going to be okay."

Meanwhile, Logarusic believes that his charges have improved since he took charge of the club five weeks ago, expressing satisfaction at the fact they frustrated the defending champions to a draw.

“I am not a magician, I am just a coach. I can’t come with a magic wand and say, now we are ‘going to play’.

“I think that game by game, we are improving and today we played Gor Mahia, who were champions last year. No one can say they dominated against us.

“It was an equal game and let us just focus on the next game. It is a marathon. There are many more games. Only eight-nine games played. There are 25 more games. Anything can happen.”

Since Logarusic joined Police, the side have played six games, winning two, losing two, and drawing two of their fixtures.

They sit 12th on 11 points, a whole 10 points behind league leaders Posta Rangers.
