Hassan Omar Tips Grassroots Clubs With Strategies to Grow at 3K FC Annual Dinner in Embu

Omar was speaking during 3K FC's annual gala, a club that is pushing for a promotion playoff spot as they seek elevation to the FKF Premier League next season.

On Saturday evening, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan graced the 3K FC Annual Dinner as Chief Guest at the Winter Villa Resort in Embu County, highlighting the critical role of grassroots football development.

The event was hosted by UDA Chairperson and Embu Governor, Her Excellency Cecily Mbarire, who is also the club’s number one supporter.

3K FC recently made history by becoming the first team from Embu County to compete in the prestigious National Super League (NSL), a landmark achievement for the region's footballing ambitions.

In his address, Sen. Hassan emphasized the need for clubs to establish strategic plans to drive their long-term vision and success. He commended 3K FC for already having clear roadmaps in place and encouraged other clubs nationwide to adopt similar practices.

“The culture of discipline serves as the panacea for a successful team in the field of football," he said, underlining the critical role of discipline in achieving football excellence.

Sen. Hassan also stressed the importance of developing tools that facilitate informed decision-making and efficient resource mobilization, all geared towards meeting clubs’ objectives.

Further, he lauded the steadfast commitment and leadership of President William Ruto and Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki in championing the growth of Kenya’s sports industry.

He expressed gratitude for their efforts in creating a supportive environment that enables sports, especially football, to flourish at both national and international levels.

The dinner was attended by notable figures including FKF President Hussein Mohammed, and UDA Directors Rob Jillo (Communications), Halake Halake (Minorities & Marginalized Groups), Grace Gichovi (Events & Logistics), Sabastian Mwangangi (Special Advisor to the Secretary General), and Truphena Mbogo (Manager, Diaspora Affairs).

Currently, 3K FC are pushing for a promotion playoff spot as they seek elevation to the FKF Premier League next season. After 26 matches, they sit 10th in the NSL standings with 38 points, six points behind third-placed Kibera Black Stars.
