Ahead of their anticipated clash with FC Talanta on Thursday, Gor Mahia has introduced a significant change in how fans will access the stadium.

Gor Mahia has announced an advanced ticketing system ahead of the clash against FC Talanta on Thursday, April 24 at the Dandora Stadium at 4pm.

Gor Mahia has been operating both with the manual and digital ticketing systems, but the club has decided to fully switch to digital. This means there will be no purchase of tickets at the gate.

At the Mashemeji Derby, Gor Mahia opted to go for a fully digital system and it seems things worked out well then, hence the decision to make the bold move.

However, the pricing of the tickets is highly likely to remain the same, with the VIP tickets certainly being priced differently.

In a post on Gor Mahia’s X (Twitter) handle, the club proudly announced that: “We are switching from manual to digital ticketing; Thursday's game against Talanta at Dandora to be the pilot where branches to also be involved in manning of gates & tight verification process of tickets, SG Nick Arum announces.”

Secretary General Nick Arum explained that the decision to transition fully to a digital platform was driven by the desire to make ticket access easier for fans and to improve accountability.

Traditionally, clubs announce their gate collections after matches, but the manual counting process can be tiresome and prone to errors, including the risk of money going missing.

“Starting this Thursday in our league match (against Talanta FC), we will deploy digital ticketing. The aim is to make tickets easily accessible to fans and streamline the whole process on matters of transparency and accountability,” he said.

Gor Mahia is in a strong position to push for the top spot, sitting just four points behind leaders Tusker and two points behind second-place Kenya Police.

Their upcoming match against FC Talanta, who are struggling in 16th place, is an opportunity for Gor Mahia to secure an important win to close the gap at the top.

However, FC Talanta will likely be fighting hard to avoid relegation, which could make them a tough opponent despite their low standing.
