Gor Mahia are looking to restructure their recruiting as they aim for league and continental dominance.

FKF Premier League giants Gor Mahia have expressed interest in recruiting foreign talents in the caliber of some of their former Stars.

The Kenyan record champions have a history of success with foreign footballers like former defender Khalid Aucho and striker Dan Sserunkuma.

The latter spearheaded Gor Mahia to the 2013 league title, ending K'Ogalo's 18-year title drought at the time.

Gor Mahia, under new leadership, now aim to replicate such successes with foreign exports.

Newly unveiled deputy patron Eliud Owalo has expressed keen interest in unearthing gems like their former Ugandan stars.

"We would wish to see a situation where at the end of every year, we bring in quality players," said Owalo via Gor Mahia media.

"We will do everything that we can to bring in quality players," he added.

"I would wish to see a situation where we start by recruiting players locally. And if we are to bring players from outside, they have to be players of no mean repute," said Owalo.

"I would wish to see another Khalid Aucho, another Geoffrey Walusimbi, another Jacques Tuyisenge, another Meddie Kagere, just to mention but a few. And we have the capacity to bring in such players so that we can position Gor Mahia effectively and competitively in the marketplace," he added.

The Kenyan champions, who are eyeing another successful title defense, already have the likes of Ghanian midfielder Enock Morrison, Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale and Congolese striker Gedeon Bendeka in their ranks, continuing their rich history with foreign footballers.

As they eye league dominance and a good account on the continental front, Gor Mahia will hope to strike gold with foreign footballers as they have done before.
