Tanzania's Young Africans and Algeria's USMA are both looking to make history.

The balance of the CAF Confederation Cup final between Yanga and USM Alger has been saddled with more intrigue.

The Wananchi's nemesis Khalid Aucho has revealed he will take in the double-legged tie starting with Sunday's clash at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

"I can't believe this because it's the worst news I got this year. I feel heartbroken for not playing in these two CAF Confederation Cup finals, but inshallah, my brothers will bring this trophy, and I will be happy again. Good luck my Ninjas Yanga. And sorry to the fans," Aucho said without revealing further details.

Aucho was part of Yanga's squad that eliminated former South Africa Premier Soccer League outfit Marumo Gallants in the semifinals.

By defeating Marumo Gallants, Yanga made history, becoming the first team from Tanzania in 30 years to reach a continental club competition final.

USMA, on their side, beat ASEC Abidjan 2-0 at home in the second leg of their semifinal after a goalless draw in Ivory Coast.

However, the midfielder missed Yanga's Azam Federation Cup semifinal against Singida Big Stars alongside goalkeeper Djgui Diarra who has since returned to the squad.

Aucho joined Yanga in August 2021 as a free agent after a spell at Misr El Mekkasa in Egypt.

Before moving to Egypt, he had played at Gor Mahia and Tusker FC in Kenya, Red Star Belgrade, and OFK Beograd in Serbia, plus Churchill Brothers in India, among others.
