Kapaito is third in the goalscorers list behind Kenya Police's Tito Okello and Gor Mahia's Benson Omala with six games to go

As the end of the season approaches, players of Tusker FC are not only focused on team success but also on chasing individual accolades. Among them is striker Eric Kapaito, who has set his sights on claiming the golden boot crown.

Currently, Kapaito finds himself in third place in the league's top scorer rankings, with a tally of 10 goals. He trails behind Gor Mahia's Benson Omalla, the current leader, by five goals, and is three goals behind Kenya Police's Tito Okello.

Despite the gap, Kapaito remains optimistic about his chances of clinching the golden boot title for the third time in his career. Having previously achieved this feat twice with Kariobangi Sharks, he is no stranger to the pressure and determination required in the race for top scorer.

"With six matches remaining, there's still time for me to fight for the gong again," Kapaito expressed confidently on the club’s monthly newsletter.

He believes that maintaining his scoring form and seizing opportunities in the remaining fixtures could propel him to the top of the goal-scoring charts.

Reflecting on his performance so far, Kapaito acknowledges that it hasn't been the smoothest season for him personally. However, he remains focused on the task at hand and is determined to make the most of the opportunities presented in the remaining matches.

"You never know what might happen in the race, so for me, I just want to keep scoring," Kapaito remarked. "In the remaining seven games, if I can score at least five, it would be good for me."

At the other end of the pitch, goalkeeper Brian Bwire is pursuing a career milestone as he sets his sights on claiming his first golden glove award.

Bwire has been a standout performer for Tusker FC, showcasing his talent and resilience between the posts throughout the campaign. With 11 clean sheets to his name so far, he finds himself in joint fifth place in the standings for the golden glove award.

However, Bwire faces stiff competition, with Gor Mahia's Kevin Omondi leading the pack with 18 clean sheets. Despite the seven-goal deficit, Bwire remains determined to push himself and his team to achieve their goals.

"With only six matches remaining, I hope I can push to be within the top two," Bwire stated, emphasizing his commitment to improving his standing in the rankings.

Currently, Police FC's Patrick Matasi leads the race with 13 clean sheets, closely followed by Posta Rangers' John Njau with 12. Bwire's aspiration to finish on the podium reflects his ambition and dedication to personal excellence.

"I want to give my best in the remaining five matches of the season and see how things go," Bwire affirmed. "I would love to finish on the podium and hopefully, I can keep more clean sheets in the coming matches."
